Council member Shirley R. Whisenant and her husband Jesse have been residents of Niederwald since 1984.  Mrs. Whisenant has three children and two grandchildren and is a former employee of Texaco Oil Company, Houston, TX for eight years;  American General Insurance Company, Houston, TX for four years;  and Dickerson-Chapman Contractors, Jackson, Ms for eight years.  Mrs. Whisenant served on the Niederwald Planning Commission for three years, the Niederwald City Council for seven years and served as Mayor Pro-Tem for four years.
