Although, this deer killed by David Schubert, Jr. in 1949 was a nice addition to the trophy room, we're actually showing you the buildings in the background. Pictured in the back is the Niederwald-Mendoza Gin which operated here in Niederwald from 1913 until the 1970's. A full sketch of the gin can be viewed on our Historical Sites Page.
